Welcome to Hangouts Session 05 with Katya Maia!

Originally from Moscow, Katya has been living in Lisbon since 2020, following an 11-year stint in Macau and Hong Kong.

In 2021, she embarked on founding the Lisbon Women’s Club, a dynamic social and professional networking initiative aimed at fostering connections, collaboration, and empowerment among women in Lisbon. Additionally, serving as an Ambassador for the independent magazine, Lisbon Insiders, Katya passionately champions the vibrant essence of Lisbon by curating a selection of hidden gems, new culinary delights, and insider insights on the city's vibrant scene. 

Katya is all about diving into arts, culture, and design, believing they can really shake things up worldwide.

This week, we were hanging out with João Rebelo, or Rebel/Belo to friends (though he dislikes these nicknames), a 27-year-old Lisbon native whose life revolves around riding horses, painting, and capturing moments with his camera.

A nonconformist by nature, João has explored various career paths with the support and creative stimulation provided by his parents since a very young age. 

Nowadays, he identifies as an artist rather than just a content creator and has made the bold choice of living off his creativity, reflecting his diverse experiences and shaping the person he has become.

With over twelve years of work experience in Communication and Media, Carlota Morais Pires has worked as a journalist for Vogue and learned from different experiences in high fashion brands. With a strong editorial and writing background, focused in Fashion, design and lifestyle, she started to develop communication strategy for brands and projects in 2018.

In 2021 she founded The Communication Studio, a press office and creative agency based in Lisbon and aligned with the world’s fast pace, working with emerging designers and established premium brands.
